ClickWheel Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 31, 2026
ClickWheel Music Player ("ClickWheel") is a music player for Android from TidyAudio, made by Sugarpine Property Management LLC ("Sugarpine", "we", "us"). This policy explains what ClickWheel does with your information. The short version: your music, playlists and settings stay on your phone. ClickWheel has no accounts, no ads and no analytics, and we run no servers that receive your data.
1. Music on your phone
With your permission, ClickWheel reads the audio files on your phone to build its library: song titles, artists, albums, track numbers, cover art and similar details from the files themselves. Your library, playlists, play counts, ratings, settings and any song details you edit are stored only on your phone. When you ask it to, ClickWheel moves, renames or deletes music files on your phone; deleted files go to Android's trash first.
2. Album art and missing song details
To find missing cover art and song details, ClickWheel sends search terms (an album's title and artist, or a song's title and length) to two public music databases: MusicBrainz and the Cover Art Archive. No account, name or contact detail is sent with these lookups. Cover art lookups run on Wi-Fi only by default and can be turned off in Settings > Library > Album Art; song detail lookups run only when you use Missing Info, Edit Info or Tidy Up For Me.
3. Google Drive
Connecting Google Drive is optional. When you connect it, Google's own file picker opens and you choose the music folders or songs ClickWheel may use. ClickWheel asks only for Google's drive.file access, which covers just the files and folders you pick (and files ClickWheel itself creates, which it never does). It cannot see, open or list anything else in your Drive.
For the files you pick, ClickWheel reads their names, sizes, dates and audio content, so it can show their song details in your library, play them while you're online, and download them to your phone when you ask. The list of picked songs and their details is kept on your phone. Your Google sign-in and access token are handled by Google Play services on your phone; we never receive them, and nothing from your Drive is sent to us or to anyone else.
ClickWheel's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, Drive data is used only to provide ClickWheel's Drive features to you, is never used for advertising, is never sold, and is never read by people, and it is not used to train AI or machine learning models.
You can stop this at any time: Settings > Google Drive > Disconnect removes the picked songs and their details from ClickWheel, and you can remove ClickWheel's access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
4. Wi-Fi Transfer
Wi-Fi Transfer lets you add songs and edit playlists from a computer's web browser. While you have it switched on, the phone serves a page on your own Wi-Fi network at an address with a short code in it. It answers only devices on your local network, files go straight from your computer to your phone, and nothing passes through the internet or through us. It switches off when you stop it or after 30 idle minutes.
5. Voice commands
If you hold the Play button or use Search > Speak, ClickWheel opens your phone's speech recognition service (usually Google's) to turn what you say into text. That service's own privacy policy covers the recording. ClickWheel receives only the resulting text and uses it to find the music you asked for.
6. Problem reports
If ClickWheel crashes or something fails, it keeps a note of the last problem on your phone (Settings > About > Last Problem). The note is never sent automatically. It leaves your phone only if you tap Share Details and choose where to send it, and it contains the error, your phone model and what ClickWheel was doing, not your music or files.
7. Purchases
If you buy ClickWheel through Google Play, Google processes the payment under its own terms and privacy policy. We receive no card details.
8. Other apps and devices
Like other music players, ClickWheel shares what's playing (title, artist, album and cover art) with Android's media controls, so it appears on your lock screen, in Bluetooth headphones and car stereos, on watches and in Android Auto.
9. What we collect
Nothing. ClickWheel has no sign-up, no advertising, no analytics or tracking, and no servers of ours that receive data from it. We don't sell or share information because we don't have any.
10. Children
ClickWheel is a general audience music player and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone.
11. Deleting your information
Everything ClickWheel stores lives on your phone. Uninstalling ClickWheel, or clearing its storage in Android's settings, removes all of it. Your music files stay where they are.
12. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
